Brand New Video | Mary J Blige “The Living Proof”

While Mary J Blige continues to work on her much anticipated 10th studio album, “My Life II: The Journey Continues”, the Queen of Hip Hop and R&B continues to make her mark in the music industry and Hollywood with a brand new music video from the lead single “The Living Proof” to the motion picture “The Help” which hit theatres today.

Mary looks amazing and the lyrics to the song and video captures from the movie tell a lot about the storyline for “The Help” and makes viewers want to go to see the movie. I don’t think they could have chosen a better artist to perform this song. Check out the video after the jump.  Read the full story

Jazmine Sullivan’s “Holding You Down” has been burning up the radio airwaves and blazing the nightclubs. Swizz Beats and Mary J Blige has jumped on the Missy Elliott produced track for the remix. Jazmine & Mary are no strangers in working together. Back in ’09 the two collaborated on Mary’s “Gonna Make It”, a bonus track off the deluxe edition of “Stronger With Each Tear” and performed the track at the BET Haiti Benefit. Jazmine will be touring with Mary this Fall. Check out the remix.

Mary J Blige Tour Dates Slowly Leaking & 10th Studio Album Coming…

glammary2

While many people look at Beyonce, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and others as the queens of tours, the Queen of Hip-Hop & R&B, Mary J Blige, can’t be denied her own righteous spot as well. Mary has been headlining her own shows since 1998 with 8 tours to date and while they have’nt been glamorous circus themes, 100+ dancers, acrobats hanging from the sky type shows, the shear HEART & SOUL of Mary’s music has been the basis of Mary selling out shows over and over again.

Mary’s last album “Stronger with Each Tour” came out in 2009 and like her past albums many of her fans where expecting a tour to come along with it. No worrys, it appears that Mary is gearing up for her Fall tour now and with that comes a few spot date announcements via www.maryjbligeeveryday.com. For the U.K. fans, you can see Mary J Blige at the O2 in London on November 2nd. Priority tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am. You can get yours here…

And for our U.S. people, Mary will be performing in Atlantic City, NJ at the Borgata Event Center on Friday, October 8th, Bristow, VA Thursday, October 7th, and has just added VA Beach to her line-up with Special Guests El Debarge and Jazmine Sullivan on Sunday, October 3rd at the VA Beach Amphitheatre. Tickets for the VA Beach show goes on sale this Saturday via ticketmaster.

In other MJB news, Mary confirmed earlier this week that she is working on her 10th studio album. In the studio with producer Swizz Beats, the two proclaimed that her next album will be Whats The 411 on another level!!! It makes sense for her to go back to the 411 on her 10th studio album! Are you excited? I am!

Shoutout to @iNewYorker for tour tip.

Our 3 Favorite Grammy Performances | Lady Gaga, Pink, & Mary J Blige (HQ Videos)

Pink-performs500

This past Sunday (01/31/10), the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards aired on CBS and drew in approximately 26.6 million viewers, the highest number since their 2004 show.

While the show was nothing to shout about, there were 3 performers we couldn’t let go unnoticed as they showed us the true art of entertainment and music!

LADY GAGA

First up, Lady Gaga. Gaga opened the Grammy show with an explosive and eye opening introduction, with a ringmaster professing the REAL Gaga with five #1 singles, her own polo stick, and no soul! Gaga opened up with “Poker face” and then performed “Speechless”  with Sir Elton John. Needless to say, the performance was SPEECHLESS!

PINK

The best performance of the night came from the awesome PINK! Pink stepped out on the stage with a white cow-neck full length dress singing “Glitter in the Air” and sounded like a million dollars. About two minutes into her performance, Pink unveiled her acrobat outfit hidden under her dress and spent the last 3 minutes singing her HEART out all while performing acrobats without missing a key. Grade: A+

MARY J BLIGE

Last but not least, our 3rd favorite Grammy performance of the night was the incomparable Mary J Blige. Mary  did a special tribute to Haiti with Andrea Bocelli performing “Bridge Over Trouble Water” and once again showed the world that the definition of your background does not dictate the definition of your future. Her vocals were on point and Andrea was AMAZING!

BET Haiti Telethon in Miami Superbowl Weekend | MJB, Diddy, Robin Thicke & More

bet_awards1-300x300

BET will be hosting a very special SOS Saving Ourselves: Help for Haiti Benefit in Miami, FL on Friday, February 5 at the American Airlines Arena during the Super Bowl weekend.

The show will be hosted by Queen Latifah and Sean Combs and will air live on BET, Centric, MTV, and VH1 beginning at 8pm. So far, BET has confirmed that Mary J Blige, Justin Bieber, Ludacris, Robin Thicke, and Pharrll Williams will be a part of the 3 hour telecast. Considering that it’s Superbowl weekend, I’m sure there will be plenty more major entertainers and celebrities that will be added to the event.

BET chose Miami due to it’s close proximity to Haiti and the fact that Miami is home to the largest Haitian-American population. Prices for the event have not been revealed yet but tickets will be available via www.ticketmaster.com.

New Music: Mary J. Blige | “Stay”

Mary J. Blige | Stay

Here is a Mary J. Blige track from her “Stronger With Each Tear (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version)” album titled “Stay”, written by Ester Dean. The song was originally sung by Ester Dean but you can hear her background vocals on the Mary version. My guess is that Ester Dean did the song as a demo for Mary. The song was released on the 21st of December but for those of you that did not buy her  album off of Amazon.com, I’m giving you a listen here. Give your thoughts.
