Screen shot 2010-06-21 at 1.56.36 PM

Many of you may have remembered 3 weeks ago when Kelly Rowland’s “Commander” video leaked on the internet and how upset Kelly was on twitter about the video being released and not completely edited. Well the video is COMPLETELY edited now and if you thought you would see a drastic change in the video, think again. As a matter of fact to the normal eye, you won’t see anything different. that’s not to say some details or editing was not done.

We asked our twitter followers, could they see anything different and most said no but one follower did notice 2 things:

Kelly Rowland’s “Grown Woman” Single Cover & Song + More Kelly News

kellygw

Bold and Beautiful are two words you can use to describe singer Kelly Rowland’s new single cover for “Grown Woman”. Perched topless on a plush comforter, Kelly is sporting one of the boldest curly haired Diana Ross-like hairdos I’ve ever seen and looks AMAZING. They went in on the photo-shopping of her skin color though. We all know Kelly is a beautiful chocolate Barbie sister but it seems like it’s a music industry standard to paint black women lighter.

Earlier this week, we posted the single for Pop Stations “Rose Colored Glasses” which we really like. She released a single cover for that as well and we’ve updated it. View it here… Here’s the new single “Grown Woman” which has been sent to the Urban stations for play.

Kelly has been a busy woman the past two months covering TV shows and concerts overseas, recently performing at Los Angeles Pride here in the U.S. and hosting her Album private listening event last night in New York City. B Scott was in attendance and stated “Kelly’s album is definitely going to surprise a lot of people and I think it’s safe to say that she has successfully carved her own lane in today’s industry and I’m anticipating nothing but great things from her in the future!”

One of our good friends and twitter buddys @musicenthusiast was at the listening party and stated when asked about Beyonce beef , Kelly replied, ““Where’s Michelle in this? Don’t disrespect the fact that she made DC3 great too!”

Kelly recently sat down with Perez Hilton and talked about her album a little bit. Perez had no problem asking Kelly about Matthew Knowles decision to release a statement that there would be no Destiny’s Child reunion and Kelly responded with a “Quite Frankly” look on her face, “Well. Matthew Knowles is not a member of Destiny’s Child, with all due respect, that’s not a decision he can make. It would be amongst myself, Beyonce, and Michelle.” That was a keke. Leave it to Perez to get the real T. Check out the interview below.

New Music | Kelly Rowland “Rose Colored Glasses”

kellyrcg

Over the past few weeks, we’ve heard several tracks from Kelly Rowland’s new album which will be out some time in September including “Commander“, “Shake Them Haters Off“, and “On & On” and while “Commander” was considered the International Single, it looks like Kelly has found a domestic single that should work well for the Billboard Pop Charts.

Take a listen to the official single “Rose Colored Glasses” and let us know what you think. Is it a hit or a miss?

New Music | Kelly Rowland – Shake Them Haters Off

Kelly-Rowland-The-Sound-ON-And-On

Miss Kelly is “shaking the haters off” in this new leak from the recording sessions for her as-yet-untitled album. “Shake Them Haters Off” is different than the previous two leaks from the album, which were both dance oriented. Which brings me to my next point: Why is this the 3rd leak from the album and it’s not even June? WhatsTheT is rooting for Kelly and we want her to have a successful return to music so we’ve come up with a plan that we think would help Kelly’s release.

  1. Release the “Commander” video.
  2. Do a 5-day internet promo campaign on your official website with daily posts revealing bits information about the album, behind the scenes clips, etc.
  3. On the Friday of the campaign, release the  ”Commander” urban remix, along with the album cover.
  4. Release an official urban single in June.
  5. Release the album mid July, instead of September.

This is assuming everything is ready to go, but we’re sure it isn’t. This is just ideally how we would like to see things pan out to help Kelly get the success she deserves! While we wait for the album, get into “Shake Them Haters Off” below!

Kelly Rowland Sanging Her Ass Off (Audio) & More…

x2_1694766

Over the weekend, the new Dance Music Diva Kelly Rowland performed her hit lead single “Commander” over in Wales for Radio 1’s Big Weekend. On this live concert track you hear Kelly’s vocals at it’s best! Take a listen.

In other news, ThatGrapeJuice.net just posted a 2 part interview with Kelly Rowland and Kelly continues to shun questions concerning anything dealing with Matthew Knowles, Music World, Destiny’s Child, or Beyonce. When asked, “Whats your relationship with Mathew Knowles now?”, Kelly replied, “Matthew just sent me flowers for my Birthday and I think that uhhhm… He just sent me flowers for my Birthday…” That was a keke! Kinda like my dad sending me a Birthday card knowing we haven’t talked in years! Check out the interview below and check out Part II here…

Kelly Rowland News | “On & On”, “Commander” Hits the Billboard Charts, Her Urban Side

Kelly-Rowland-The-Sound-ON-And-On

Two weeks ago a snippet of Kelly Rowland’s “On & On” was featured. Here is the full track produced by Brian Kennedy. Kelly’s new CD which will be available later this summer is being described by Rico Love who’s a major writer on her new album, as “an aggressive record” … “a club record” … “a worldwide International record”.

Kelly recently sat down with Billy Johnson, Jr. for an extensive interview in the Yahoo offices in Santa Monica, CA and addressed her urban fans explaining that even though her album is very much dance inspired, she did not forget about her Urban roots.

“From my fans that have followed me since that sound, I can’t let them go. I wouldn’t do that to them! But I do want them to follow me on my journey as well. Into trying something new and taking a risk and I am not afraid! “

Kelly’s first  single “Commander” is officially charting on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart debuting at #36 and is also Kelly’s best entry on the U.S. charts since “Like This”. “Commander” is now available for purchase on Itunes now! I’m not mad at Kelly at all and I think she’s on the RIGHT track with the Dance inspired album! I literally have this “On & On” track on repeat. Rock on Kelly!

UNDERDOG DAY MAY 18th: KELLY ROWLAND, KELIS, JANELLE MONAE

Screen shot 2010-05-17 at 3.45.55 PM

Underdog day: Remember Remember the 18th of May!

May 18th, 2010 marks the day of the Underdog in the music world.

First we have Kelly Rowland who has amazing potential and has released 2 albums that found mediocre success compared to her Group Destiny’s Child. Kelly Rowland will release her first single “Commander” produced by David Guetta, which has the Internet buzzing.

Up next is Kelis, the eclectic, former Star Trek First lady that showed much promise at the close of the 90’s with the single “Caught Out There”. Kelis 2nd album  “Wanderland” was shelved in the U.S., but her 3rd album created the monster single “Milkshake” which peaked on the billboard Hot 100. After the smash, came the decline where her fourth album “Kelis Was Here” failed to gain the same momentum as her predecessor. After the disappointment of support of her record label. It was reported that Kelis was going to give up music and become a chef. May 17th marks the worldwide release date day for her 5th album Fleshtone that includes the #1 Dance Single “Acapella”. Unfortunately, Fleshtone will not be available in the U.S till July 6th. :(

Finally, Kansas born Janelle Monáe, a new artist discovered by Outkast’s Big Boi. Janelle was signed to Big Boi’s Purple Ribbon Label and was featured on The Idlewild Soundtrack. During this era, Janelle’s material never saw the light of mainstream media. In 2007, Janelle took the leap into the underground indie circuit to produce the first EP of 4 Metropolis Suite I of IV: The Chase. It was reported that she was able to sell 10,000 copies of the EP on her own. After numerous tours, collaborations, and finding a home at Bad Boy, Janelle Monáe is set to release her first full-length LP The ArchAndroid: (Suites II and III of IV) on May 18th .

So tomorrow everybody breakout your itunes, cash, and debit cards and go support these ladies tomorrow!
