WhatsTheT, An Official Media Sponsor for In The Life Atlanta

ITLA Logo

Today we are proud to announce an Official Media Sponsorship with In The Life Atlanta (ITLA). ITLA is a non profit organization that has spearheaded many of the Atlanta Black Pride events for the past fourteen years. ITLA is an advocate of promoting black LGBT people of African descent and their families, providing safe, open, and cultural events for Atlanta’s LGBT community, building relationships with the diverse LGBT organizations that can support the Black LGBT community, increasing the visibility of issues that affect LGBT communities of African descent, and mobilizing African American LGBT communities for positive programs in education, health, and advocacy.

During the past few years, the organization purpose and events have been overshadowed by nightlife events and celebrity entertainment. This year WhatsTheT.com hopes to bring a more balanced share of media coverage of some of the important events ITLA sponsors including the Black Pride Marketplace which is an event held on Friday, September 3rd where vendors and exhibitors that target the LGBT community with their products and services. Also on Saturday, September 4th, ITLA will sponsor a free health expo which provides FREE individual health screenings valued at over $1000 per person. One can take advantage of the Beauty and Barber Salon and other holistic services as well as free rapid HIV testing. Sunday, September 5th ITLA will co-sponsor a “Prevention Pool Party : Bring You Swagger” along with Traxx Atlanta and NAESM at the Greystone and Aquatic Center at the famed Piedmont Park from 4pm-11pm with a headlining performance by past American Idol contestant Frenchie Davis along with Niesha Dupree, a FlavaMen Models Miami $1,000 Hot Body Contest and a FlavaMen cover model photo shoot. ITLA will end their weekend Sunday evening with their 14TH ANNUAL BLACK GAY PRIDE Fashion Show titled “MAKE ME OVER” featuring 16 OF Atlanta’s Prominent Designers.

These are just some of the community events that will happen during Atlanta Black Pride weekend. For full list and any admission prices that may come with some of the eevents, readers should visit www.InTheLifeATL.com for the latest details.
