Atlanta Needs This…..

Remember this picture that was posted on twitter of two young men riding the Marta Train enjoying each others company which caused so much homophobic reaction on the Internet from Hip-Hop and Gossip blogs?

It would be so great to see this picture used in a Billboard program across the City of Atlanta as “I Love My Boo Campaigns”! Better yet, posted on Billboards inside homophobic churches like New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.

In New York, the world’s first and leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy group GMHC is getting ready to  relaunch their annual “I Love My Boo Campaign”. “I Love My Boo” campaign features real young men of color loving each other passionately. Rather than sexualizing gay relationships, this campaign models caring, and highlights the importance of us taking care of each other. Featured throughout New York City, I Love My Boo directly challenges homophobia and encourages all who come across it to critically rethink our notion of love.

“I Love My Boo” campaign will be re-launched on October 4th in 1000 NYC subway cars and 150 subway platforms! The campaign launch event is October 4, 2010 from 4pm to 5pm at Christopher Street Park in Sheridan Square right in front of the legendary Stonewall Inn.

Check out these cute pictures of ADTV creator and founder, Derrick Briggss (baseball cap on), along with cutie pie Jazzy.

Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) presented their 20th Annual House of Latex Ball last night at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The event included categories for competition in exhuberant expressions of dance, vogueing and modeling of fashion designs. During the past 20 years, GMHC has been able to use the Latex Ball as a great tool to reach out to thousands of attendees from the tri-state area to help raise awareness for HIV/AIDS by providing HIV testing and educational materials.

Bajan R&B/Pop singer-songwriter Shontelle was a  judge for a special vouguing competition. After doing her part on the stage Shontelle had this to say via her twitter…
