If you have been waisting your time watching any other singing competition on TV, NOW is the time to STOP! Last night on American Idol, it was a COMPLETE KNOCK OUT & DRAG OUT with the 4 Idol competitors Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez, and Hollie Cavanagh.

First of all let me say, this season of American Idol has by far been the best season for a top 4 competition in a very long time. Minus Hollie, the three competitors Phillip, Josh, and Jessica are absolutely MIND BLOWING!

It was a two hour show and for the first hour of the show, the theme was songs from a Californian artist, then a duet, and then the last hour the theme was a song that the Idol contestant wish they could have written. I’m only posting the last half of the show because that’s where the competition got REALLY HEATED and made me an American Idol stan!

Ok so first let me just say this. Out of the 4 competitors, Hollie, unfortunately, was wiped off the face of the planet by the other 3 contestants. She chose “I Cant Make You Love Me” (Bonnie Raitt) and it was complete dud. No “big moments” in the song at all and just an “ok” vocal. Wrong song to choose!

So first up, here is Phillip Phillips. Throughout the AI competition, Phillip has been in his own world for the style and genre. In addition to a singer, he’s a musician that plays the guitar. And he is a heart throb for living girls all across the country! Out of the 4 contestants left, I feel like Phillip has a market that would sell him and the record label the most albums.

Next up is Josh Ledet. To sum it up, we call Josh the male version of Fantasia. When Josh opens his mouth, something takes over his body and there hasn’t been a performance the past 3 weeks that hasn’t given us goose bumps. Josh sang James Brown’s “This is a Man’s World” and I know James Brown was moonwalking all up in heaven watching Josh rip this song up! If this was the finale, Josh would be the winner! Vocally, there is not another male R&B artist out that can compete with this man!

Last but not least, we have 16 year old Jessica Sanchez. 16 YEARS OLD!!! The girl has a voice of a seasoned 30y/o singer and she proved it last night by singing Jennifer Holiday’s “I am Telling You”. The girl sang so hard last night without moving that emotionally after her performance, tears rolled down her face. It was THE most intensive performance that I have ever seen in a competition.

Fresh from the popular VEVO artist video network, Mary J Blige has released her new video to her current single “Why” featuring Rick Ross. The video is a pretty basic  R&B video and Mary is looking AMAZING as usual from head to toe.

In just a few hours, ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer will air part of an exclusive interview President Barack Obama did today for Good Morning America which will air tomorrow morning confirming that on a personal level he believes same sex marriage should be legal.

For the 8 years, President Obama has been in the oval office, Obama has dodged the gay marriage question and his stance, once agreeing that civil unions was enough to protect gay couples. But from the looks of this upcoming interview, Obama’s “evolving” opinion on the subject appears to be concrete now.

“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”

Added the President:

“It’s interesting, some of this is also generational. You know when I go to college campuses, sometimes I talk to college Republicans who think that I have terrible policies on the economy, on foreign policy, but are very clear that when it comes to same sex equality or, you know,  believe in equality. They are much more comfortable with it. You know, Malia and Sasha, they have friends whose parents are same-sex couples. There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we’re talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn’t dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently. It doesn’t make sense to them and frankly, that’s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.”

The President also cited his faith in the announcement and the influence of First Lady Michelle Obama:

“This is something that, you know, we’ve talked about over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way, she feels the same way that I do. And that is that, in the end the values that I care most deeply about and she cares most deeply about is how we treat other people and, you know, I, you know, we are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others but, you know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it’s also the Golden Rule, you know, treat others the way you would want to be treated. And I think that’s what we try to impart to our kids and that’s what motivates me as president and I figure the most consistent I can be in being true to those precepts, the better I’ll be as a as a dad and a husband and hopefully the better I’ll be as president.”

As many of you all know, radical girl group The Yes Ma’ams will be hosting our 7 year Anniversary this Saturday at Sunrise Bistro (3395 Buford Hwy, Atlanta, GA). We’re so excited to have the sassy gals join us. They’ve been making their rounds in Atlanta and prepping for some AMAZING things later this summer and each week they’ve been sharing their journey with their fans via a webisode on Vimeo.

Over the weekend, the 138th annual Kentucky Derby took place in Louisville, KY. The Queen of Hip-Hop & R&B Mary J Blige took to the stage to sing the National Anthem to a record breaking 165,000 Derby attendees. Back in March, Blige performed the anthem at the NBA All-Star game and was criticized harshly by blogs and  music critics for what some considered a very pitchy performance but this time around, Mary J Blige totally slaaaaayed (in a good way) the anthem!!!

Fresh off the heels of his racy “If this Pu$$y Could Talk” video , the dynamic and illustrative Ken Dahl the Artist is back on the scene with a brand new video for a his new single “Machine”. This time more mellow, and sultry, Ken Dahl enlisted America’s Next Top Model first transgender model Isis King along with some other familar faces including porn-stars Angyl and Hot Rod, as well as calendar model Deandre.

Last night, the poptress, Rihanna, was special guest on Saturday Night Live. For her first set, Riri performed a medly of her radio hit “Cake” and “Talk That Talk”. Between the reverb effects the sound men were giving and Rihanna vocals, my ears didn’t HAVE A CHANCE! BUT, Rihanna did redeem herself second go round when she performed her newest single “Where Have You Been”.

Last week, Brandy released her hot new single “Put it Down”, produced by Chris Brown and Sean Garrett. While a few felt it was too bubblegum for Brandy, the majority believe Brandy is back in a big way!

Brandy was in Atlanta over the weekend and did a club blitz on Friday night hosting a party at Primal Nightclub and then journeying over to the famed Friday night  hot spot for the kids, Club Rain. Packed to capacity, the kids got a little overly excited making Brandy have to cut her visit short after a few knuckleheads fought.

Brandy tweeted the next day about the chaos and how overwhelmed she was of the support from everyone.
