This weekend was a great weekend. We celebrated our friend Jeromes birthday, so a little over the top we had a blast. We started thursday where we went to Daiquiri Factory which is becoming our casual meet & drink spot. Like I said before, Love their crab legs! Last week Traxx International, INC gave ATLiens a sneak peak of the brand new XS Ultra Lounge located at 708 Spring Street in Atlanta and tonight the company will host the Grand Opening w/ special guest DJ, DJ Sedrick, and Atlanta’s own DJ Maestro, along with Rupauls Drag Race winner Tyra Sanchez celebrating her birthday.

The address of 708 Sprint Street in Atlanta, GA should ring a bell to almost every gay ATLien as well as to those who frequent the city. That address use to belong to one of the longest running gay night clubs in Atlanta known as Club 708 and Lorrettas previously before that. The owner of the nightclub closed it’s doors for good last summer and sold the venue to Traxx. Traxx has formed a firm called Traxx Clubs International, LLC, which will own and operate the newest staple in Atlanta community, XS Ultra Lounge, and is promising to revive & redefine Atlanta’s gay nightlife once again.

Traxx has been working the past six months totally renovating the inside of the building from the floor to the walls to the ceiling transforming the venue from what use to be a teeny bopper go to nightspot into an ultra sexy lounge and nightclub for the 21 & up crowd. Tonight, XS Ultra Lounge opens it doors to Atlanta and visitors for a Sneak Peak of the new nightclub.

We got a chance to personally see the venue this past week for a private V.I.P. reception and we must say, the promises were delivered and Atlanta is in for an amazing new nightclub and nightlife!

XS Ultra Lounge is an ultra chic bistro, cocktail lounge and dance club.  The venue features all new renovations, plush VIP sections, a delectable menu, signature cocktails, an intimate dance floor, as well as another massive dance space. The posh new establishment located in the heart of midtown has a state of the art light and sound system, adorned with big screens and plasma televisions, enveloped in an environment fit for Atlanta’s elite.

Not only will XS Ultralounge be a night club but it will be an after work lounge and bistro from 5 PM – 10 PM, Tuesday thru Sunday. One of the best parts of the location of XS is that it’s in the heart of Atlanta, GA (midtown), walking distance from MARTA for locals and across the street from the Melia hotel, which will be the host hotel of Traxx Atlanta/Traxx Girls Pure Heat Atlanta Black Pride weekend this year.

Traxx will continue to run it’s other location in Decatur, GA as well for the 18 & up crowd which will continue to be open until 5am and will serve as the after hours party for those leaving XS Ultra lounge on Saturday night which is open 10pm-3am.

Hot 107.9 made their first major artist announcement for Birthday Bash 16th and unlike past years, they pulled out the big guns earlier this year by announcing that “F.A.M.E.” singer Chris Brown would be a part of this year’s all-star line-up. This marks the first time Chris Brown has performed at Birthday Bash.

Chris Brown released his 4th studio album F.A.M.E. and has been prepping for his world tour. ThatGrapeJuice posted some video footage last week of the young singer practicing some dance moves in the studio with his dancers and if the concert is anywhere close to what CBreezy is giving in the video, Birthday Bash attendees will be in for a hell of a show come June 19th.

Atlanta has been unseasonably cold this winter season. Back in December, R&B singer Kelly Price was scheduled to perform at Djangos for Wassup N ATL’s Grown & Sexy Sundays, but mother nature threw a curve ball and the show had to be postponed due to Kelly’s flight being canceled. But some things happen for a reason. This weekend, for the first time since November, the weather will blossom like spring with near 60 degree temperature and all sunshine just in time for Kelly Price’s rescheduled show with Wassup N ATL at their brand new Sunday night Grown & Sexy venue, Tongue & Groove (located at Lindbergh Station).

Wow, on August 2nd, Ill be turning the BIG 30!  It’s been a blessing to spend 4 of my last 30 years with you guys here at WhatsTheT.com so I am personally inviting all my readers and followers to come out this Friday (July 30th) at Steel Lounge (950 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA) to party it up at my 30th Birthday celebration from 10pm-3am. Admission is free all night; however, if you want to get toasted for free, you should get their early as WassupNATL will be providing complimentary Sushi and Kettle One cocktails until midnight! DJ Truz will be spinning and of course you know the party will be jumping!

Last Friday, Traxx Atlanta & Traxx Girls held the Grand Opening of the multi-million dollar renovated Atlanta Live Nighclub now named Mansion Elan. After a near 3 month hiatus, over a 1,000 party goers came back to their familiar Friday night spot to find a totally renovated and brand new experience at Atlanta Live. With a line of people wrapped around the building early, patrons walked into the Mansion one by one to see a  totally renovated foyer with 3 beautiful statues. Traxx and Traxx Girls also had a red carpet setup in the foyer sponsored by Nuvo where patrons could take pictures for the Grand Opening.

After leaving the foyer and entering the club, patrons were greeted with  a rectangular bar in the middle of the floor with full service spirits and courteous bartenders. Waitresses were dispersed throughout the nightclub dance floor and VIP sections to provide hand delivered cocktails at the customer’s request. What use to be a stage made of harwood and decked with  a few couches has now become a plush VIP stage for VIP customers and special guests with 4 VIP sections and an area for performances. Lisa Wu-Hartwell of the popular Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta reality show was on hand and greeted the crowd as well as a live drummer boy who entertained the crowd throughout the night by playing the beats with the Urban tracks the DJ spun.

On the both sides of the club, the VIP sections were upgraded with Roman-like columns, plush VIP couches, and at least 4 flat screens for each side. Upstairs, the VIP section remained which allowed customer to have an aerial view of the nightclub and came catered with a personal VIP bar. With some amazing renovations, probably the most important things (DJ, staff, and the crowd) were all the still the same…crunk and partying until 5am!

It’s safe to say that the king of Friday night Atlanta nightlife for the LGBT community is back, Welcome Bakc Atlanta LIVE aka Mansion Elan…We’ve Missed You!

This past Saturday,  Trina hosted the legendary Saturday night dance party at Traxx Nightclub in Decatur, GA. Fresh from Hot 107.9′s Birthday Bash, Trina made her way to the East side to party and take pictures with the kids. She stayed until almost the very end and didn’t turn away one fan when asked to take a picture, even when the stage got a bit overcrowded with fans trying to get a photo with the Miami rap diva.
