Last night, Trey Songz appeared on The Monique Show in an effort to continue promoting his lastest project “Ready” which has sold 438,000 copies in the United States. And now…THE GOOD! Trey has joined the Jay-Z Blueprint tour which has added more cities. Trey along with Young Jeezy are opening acts. Trey will join the tour starting February 20th at the Bank Atlantic Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL and will perform all 23 dates thereafter ending March 27th at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas. This is definitely a good look and huge exposure for Trey. As we all know, Jay-Z is one of the biggest artist of all times and I’m sure every arena will have close to capacity attendance if not sold out! Maybe it will help him push more albums as well.
Now on to the BAD news. It’s not bad news to us per say but maybe to some of the ladies. Another major blog has supposedly dished the T on Trey’s sexuality reporting that the R&B singer is bisexual and they have “proof”. You may have recalled back in November when the infamous blogger SandraRose reported Trey Songz as being gay and having a lover. Now Bossip reports that Trey use to date an underground R&B singer by the name of Brandon Hines. The subject of the article read “Bossip Exclusive:Trey Songz Reinvents Sex with More Than the Ladies” and gave information from a “reliable” source with a timeline of the couples relationship back in ’04-’05.
NOW, while my motto is “who the fuck cares”… We all know that music industry, doesn’t take well to gay or bisexual rumors (at least for BLACK R&B singers). I just pray whatever the case, somebody (Ne-Yo, Trey, Usher, Omarion…SOMEBODY) will just be who they are, make good music for all, and kill the sterotyping. It’s really TIRED. It’s really sad to think that we could go a possible 30 more years in a Luther Vandross “Dont Ask, Dont Tell” state of mind with our black artist if you know what I mean.
